Summary and Suggestion

 

1.1 purpose of practicum

      The purpose of this teaching practicum in a different country is to increase experience and broaden horizons, why? Because not everyone has experience teaching in another country, with many differences such as language, culture, student characters, school regulations and curriculum. 

      This affects how future teachers learn to adapt and adjust teaching methods according to the knowledge they have learned in college. Because the purpose of learning is to create educated individuals, not only in theory but in practice. In addition, this goal also expands the insight and knowledge of future teachers, the more knowledge and insight, the more perfect the concept of learning will be created.

1.2 procedure of practicum

     The procedure of this teaching practicum is to start with an introduction to each research teacher who helps and directs all activities at school, after that it is continued with observation activities for approximately one week to understand how classroom conditions, student characters, and the way teachers teach there. This is important in determining the topic, and the appropriate method for the demoteaching process. Next is the process of preparing the lesson plan guided by the research teacher.

     At the lesson plan preparation stage, the research teacher will correct and guide students to make a good and effective lesson plan in learning, after that the demo teaching process by implementing the lesson plan and suggestions from the research teacher for demoteaching activities, the next stage after demo teaching, students get feedback from the research teacher regarding the demoteaching process. that has been carried out, and the last is to assess the student work given on that learning day and the assessment results are returned to the research teacher.

1.3 outcomes of the practicum

     Outcomes of this practicum are of course many aspects that are implemented, such as educational psychology, how prospective teachers learn about student psychology in learning so that students can comfortably take part in learning and teachers also understand students well. 

  Then from the aspect of classroom management in this aspect teachers pay attention to classroom conditions and adjust to learning methods so as not to cause obstacles and learning can run conducive, and the most important thing is how teachers learn from experience. Many theories are learned in order to create good learning, but if without experience it will be useless, the need to apply and solve problems as one of the implementations of problem-based learning theory, teachers will learn to face a problem that occurs in the classroom.

1.4 the challenges 

      The challenge in teaching is of course the difference in language, between teachers and students both have English as a second language, not a native language, while students in class quite often use native languages, such as Ilocano or Tagalog. In addition to the challenges from the language aspect, another challenge is dealing with various characteristics of students, some are noisy, active and some are very quiet. So the teacher must be able to create appropriate learning conditions and help students in learning.

1.5 suggestion for future environment

   My suggestion for the future environment is to further improve the preparation process, and fyi during our time there, we didn't have buddies, while we think we need buddies to introduce and take us to many places and introduce many things.
